NYIT User name and Password

NYIT User name and password are the credentials that a faculty member or a student needs to access the following services.

  • MyMail
  • NYITConnect > PeopleSoft
  • NYIT Apps
  • E-library
  • WI-FI network access, available on the New York campuses

When is the NYIT User Name assigned?
Students: once they register for their first class at NYIT.
Faculty: once they are entered into the system by the Human Resources Department.

How is the NYIT User Name built?
The NYIT Username is composed of the first initial and the first 7 letters of the last name. If a duplicate NYIT User Name exists, the last two letters are replaced with a 2 digit number "01" and incremented by 1 until a unique ID is constructed.

What is the NYIT password standard? The following restrictions apply to the password that you can select.

  • Password should be at least eight characters long.
  • Password cannot contain spaces.
  • Password must contain at least two alphabetic characters (all uppercase and lowercase letters) and at least two numeric or special characters.
  • Only the following special characters are allowed , . / + = - _ ~ ! # $ ^
